This is a good formula to use when taking antibiotics. It is convenient to take since it does not require refrigeration. A dose of 2 capsules twice daily is equivalent to what’s been used in most of the research.

The probiotic yeast Saccharomyces boulardii has shown to exert an anti-inflammatory effect on intestinal epithelial cells (Sougioultzis S, et al. 2006).

Saccharomyces has shown to significantly reduce the frequency and duration of acute diarrhea in children (Billoo AG, et al. 2006. Kurugol Z, et al. 2005).

There is evidence that Saccharomyces reduces the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhea in children (Kotowska M, et al. 2005).

Saccharomyces boulardii stimulates the release of immunoglobulins, cytokines and also induces the maturation of immune cells ( Stier H, Bischoff SC, 2017).

This suggests that Saccharomyces boulardii is capable of activating the unspecific immune system.

In the case of an infection, Saccharomyces boulardii is able to bind pathogenic bacteria and to neutralize their toxins.

Research also showed that Saccharomyces boulardii significantly reduced the duration of diarrhea approximately 24 hours (Dinleyici EC, et.al., 2012).
