When researchers reviewed 21 studies on green tea and how it affected brain functions in humans, they found some interesting things (Manchini E, et al., 2017).

The reviewed studies presented evidence that green tea influenced the reduction of anxiety. It also improved cognition as benefits in memory and attention.

On functional MRI, brain function activation of working memory was seen.

The benefits of green tea on cognition were seen with the combination of both caffeine and l-theanine. Both substances are found in green tea. Caffeine has a stimulatory effect, and l-theanine produces relaxation.

Not everybody cares for the taste of green tea, but if you don’t like green tea, you can take green tea extract in capsule form.
