Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) can be quite the troublemaker, and its symptoms can vary from person to person. The most common ones are:

  • Abdominal Pain
  • Bloating and Gas
  • Diarrhea or Constipation
  • Changes in Bowel Movements
  • Food Intolerance
  • Fatigue and Difficulty Sleeping
  • Anxiety and Depression

Research has shown that this can help the symptoms of IBS

132 patients with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) participated in this double-blinded study (Chen C, et.al., 2015).

They either received 400 mg of berberine hydrochloride twice daily or a placebo supplement for 8 weeks. Their symptoms were predominantly diarrhea and abdominal pain.

The researchers concluded that berberine hydrochloride was well tolerated and reduced IBS symptoms, which effectively improved patients’ quality of life.

Berberine is a remarkable plant compound that has been found to also reduce blood glucose levels, cholesterol, LDL (low density lipoprotein) and triglycerides. It also regulates the immune system, reduces inflammation and waist circumference. These effects have been covered more in detail earlier with the inclusion of references.

Berberine can be provided in more than one form, so be sure you get berberin hydrochloride (HCL).
